L-derly Befrienders™

hey peeps!!

I juz received news from our dear old chairperson Vic dat LB (Lion Befrienders) have been officially changed to L-derly Befrienders™! *cLaP~!~!*

yep, previously we were trying to scrap the use of Lion Befrienders because we no longer liaise with them on our activities and it seemed that for the past year, they have sent down another representative on their behalf.

But right now, we have a more appropriate name, cos well, we do befriend L-derly, yar? haha...

But still, for convenience sake, LB will still be LB and we'll remain as one small, but close family ;-)

Lastly, the window for t-shirt ordering is closed. VC and me will be gg down to print the t-shirts on tue afternoon, and hopefully get everything done before our x'mas celebrations = ) Till now, we have 27 orders for the t-shirts and if you suddenly regret not placing an order, you can still make an appeal before 1400hrs, 14 Nov 2006 (Tue)!!!

Till then, gd luck for the exams!!

Candice's Birthday!

Tomorrow (Tues 14 Nov) is Candice's birthday!

Allow me to represent LB and write her a testimonial. Nothing mushy, here I go.. *ahem*

Candice is in NUS for exchange. She does not need any CCA points to stay in her hostel. Also, her contributions to the club would not be reflected in her portfolio. Yet she still chose to do community work, in a country she does not belong to. I noticed that.

She is also in HCA Hospice. *me too* In my opinion, visiting the elderly and the terminally-ill takes a BIG heart and a matured mind. I used to think I am already learnt. She made me think otherwise. She keeps me humble after talking to her.

She is very appreciative of the committee's efforts. Victor's translations, Zenov's outing organisations and updates of LB-related events on Tan Ching's blog are just some of the examples. She was very happy to receive a candle for the Mid Autumn Festival celebration. She feels a sense of belonging in LB because she feels appreciated.

sorree for the late notice. the exam destress outing is still on tmr, 3 Nov (fri) and it'll b at where we had our last outing... YES! settler's at clarke quay!

do come down if u're feeling stretched after rushing thru all the papers and mugging to unwind w fellow Befrienders... ;)

we'll b meeting at the clubrm at yih at 5.45 pm b4 setting off. u can haf ur dinner at settler's or b4 u come over.
