Guan Yin auntie hospitalised

Guan Yin auntie hospitalised

B4 (Befrienders 4: Victor, Tan Ching, Mingwei & Suanzy) went to visit Guan Yin auntie but she wasn't at home. She was always at home because she had difficulties walking. So we decided to knock on her door after visiting another L-derly..

A moment later, we heard from an uncle whom another group was visiting that she got hospitalised! I wasn't shocked to hear that. She had undergone an eye surgery 1-2 weeks ago. Victor suggested that we ask an auntie in the L-derly centre to confirm the news. The auntie said that she is warded in Ward 9 or 11. We began walking to Alexandra Hospital..

On the way to AH, Linh the Vietnamese girl joined us. We took alot of pictures together & bought an ice-cream each outside Queensway Shopping Centre! Chocolate for Linh, Chocolate Chip for Victor, Sweet Corn for Mingwei, Ripple-turned-out-to-be-Strawberry for Tan Ching & Mint-chocolate for me! $1 self-indulgence on a bloody sunny day! =p

We went to Ward 9 to realise Guan Yin auntie is in Ward 10. I guess we were not smart enough to get the Ward "9 or 11 = 10" hint. As we made way to Ward 10 on level 2, Tan Ching explained to us the need for big lifts to transport dead bodies. We were not impressed at all. d=_=b"

Guan Yin auntie was elated to see us~! For the past weeks, she claimed that she was out of energy and didn't allow us into her house because she needed rest. Like a kid, she said that she was craving for Green Potato Chips. Onion Pringles? Tan Ching & I immediately offered to buy it for her. Meanwhile, Victor and Mingwei continued catching up with her. Linh continued to attempt to understand her mandarin..

Tan Ching and I split the cost of $3. Guan Yin auntie was hospitalised because she felt giddy. In the hospital, she complained that the "dead ghost" doctor (Si2 Gui3 Yi1 Sheng1) kept drawing her blood for testing. She said that doing that would suck the life out of her. She narrated grandmother stories to us. Really! She talked about her grandmother who has very old-fashioned! She is fine. She will be discharged on Monday & an angel will send her home.. =D

Spring Cleaning and a New Elderly

Spring Cleaning and a New Elderly

Meet Uncle Lee!

Chinese New Year is coming! Done your spring cleaning already? Well, for LB we’ve helped some of them to do so. I must admit, even my own spring cleaning at home isn’t so thorough (guess this applies to most of us, yea? :P)

Cleaning up the walls and windows

Lucky Victor got all the girls while the rest of us guys, well... went to visit a new elderly, Uncle Lee (who is actually pretty nice). He speaks English, so we shouldn’t have much problem communicating with him. He has been staying there since April 04, so nearly three years already. He isn’t at home most of the time, as he actually goes down to a CC in Chinatown, just around 20 min journey. In fact he spends nearly the whole afternoon there till evening, playing chess and joining other activities organized. Occasionally he will go down to the hawker centre to watch documentaries or live soccer matches. Do note that he has some difficulty hearing, so might have to talk louder to him. Anyways, we helped him cleaned up the house and he treated us to some sweets and 'love letters' that we nearly cleared for him as well. haha..

Finding out more about our new elderly

After that, we were joined by the rest of the group, and played the never-ending game, improvised from the game, ‘Swap’. (Yeap, it’s the game we played during the LB outing). But it seems that the probability of winning is 0, cause after .5 hour, the game was still going on and on and on. So we had to make do with ‘the least cards win’. Then we had our usual BBS before ending our session.

Btw, do come for next week’s visit! Cause after that we will have a looooong break for Chinese New Year, and it will be only March that we will have our CNY celebrations (03/03).

Cya!
